Hawcombe Wood Butterfly Walk on Friday 20th June at 1 pm
Hawcombe Wood Butterfly walk
Join us for a special guided walk on Friday 20th June at 1pm as we explore the enchanting woods of Hawkcombe Nature Reserve, looking for one of the UK's rarest butterflies, the Heath Fritillary.
Your guide for the day, Exmoor National Park’s Woodland Officer, Graeme McVittie, will explain how coppice management in the reserve is helping the recovery of this nationally rare butterfly, also known as the Woodman's Follower.
With a bit of luck (and good weather!), we might just spot this beautiful species fluttering through the woodland, along with other species which call Hawkcombe home.
