New installation of a Electric Vehicle Charging point in Porlock

With more electric charging points being installed across West Somerset. Porlock are proud to announce the installation of a new EV point at the Central Car Park

This new 22kw fast charging point will be one of a number of points being installed in Minehead, Taunton, Watchet and Williton in the local area.

The government grants administered by the Energy Savings Trust on behalf of the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, was awarded as part of the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme available to local authorities.

The installations are to increase the availability of plug in charging for residents and visitors without access to off-street parking. The idea being that those without off-street parking are no longer constrained by the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

With the installation of this EV charging point it should help local businesses by enabling Electric Vehicle owners to top-up their vehicles whilst the shop locally.
