Walk Exmoor-Porlocks Pilgrim's Trail, to take place over the weekend of 27 March 2026 to 29th March 2026

We are delighted to announce that an exciting new walking weekend will take place on March 27th to 29th 2026. Walk Exmoor – Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail will offer routes suitable to walkers of all abilities, from long-distance enthusiasts to families and day-visitors.
The routes will follow the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail, which links nine churches and chapels, many remote and scattered across the glorious countryside of Exmoor. It is an ideal opportunity to experience early spring in a wild and untouched landscape. Walkers all receive a Trail guidebook which they can stamp at each of the historic churches and chapels as a memento of their adventure.
There will be three levels of walk:
29 mile complete circuit (challenging)
Two 15 mile half-circuits, east and west (robust)
An 8 mile circular walk to Porlock Weir and Culbone Churches (moderate)
A 7 mile circular walk to Lynch Chapel of Ease and Selworthy Church (moderate)
Walkers have all weekend to enjoy the Trail, the village of Porlock and Exmoor. Which route to take, how far and how fast to walk is entirely up to the walker.
Numbers are limited. Booking will be essential and opens in September 2025. Keep informed by registering your interest on the ‘Events’ page at www.porlockpilgrim.co.uk
The cost of the weekend will be £15 per person – to include a complimentary copy of the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail guidebook. Full details for registration and all the weekend’s events, such as hearty pub meals and musical entertainment, will be available soon.
You can find a great selection of accommodation on the Porlock website.
The weekend will be run by Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail and Porlock Parish Council, supported by the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund.
