Porlock residents and visitors will be treated to a wonderful evening full of entertainment, festive refreshment, and lots of Late Night Christmas Shopping from our unique and individual High Street shops on Saturday 9th December.
Porlock will be lit up with hundreds of Christmas lights, trees and shop window displays, transforming the High Street into a winter wonderland filled with music and dance from 6pm from the West Somerset Brass Band and the Morris Dancers, Bettina serenading shoppers, and the children of St Dubricius School setting the festive scene singing carols at the Church at 4.15pm.
Come and see Porlock’s Santa Festival and follow the Santa Trail with life-sized to mini Santas displayed in a variety of fun and festive poses all along the High Street, with shops, businesses, accommodation providers, pubs and restaurants taking part. And don’t forget to visit the Christmas Tree Festival at St Dubricius Church, opening at 4pm on Late Night Shopping. A host of Imaginatively decorated trees by local community groups representing a Christmas carol or song will be on display until 3rd January, so have fun trying to guess the song depicted. There are prizes for the tree that most visitors match with the Christmas song and for the visitor who matches most trees correctly.
